Amid Chandigarh University video leak row, late-night protest at Lovely Professional University over student ‘dying by suicide’

A huge protest broke out on the campus of Lovely Professional University here late Tuesday night after a student allegedly committed suicide in a hostel room.
The deceased has been identified as Agun, a resident of Kerala. A suicide note was also recovered from the site in which only personal reasons were found written as the cause of suicide.

The protesting students alleged that this was the second suicide reported at the campus in the last 10 days, but the administration is tight-lipped on the issue.
However, the police and civil administration have denied the allegations made by the students.
They alleged they were protesting as they want to know the reasons behind both the suicide cases.
They alleged that news of the last suicide had gone unreported as the matter was resolved behind closed doors.
The police had also reached the spot, and tried to pacify the students.
