Himachal BJP releases poll manifesto, announces to implement uniform civil code, promises 8 lakh jobs

The Himachal Pradesh BJP has released its election manifesto in Shimla. The party has termed it as Sankalp Patra. BJP national president JP Nadda released the Sankalp Patra this morning, which focuses on 11 points.

In the manifesto, the party has announced implementation of uniform civil code, adding a committee would be constituted for the same. All villages would be connected with all-weather metalled roads at a cost of Rs 5000 crore. Rs 12000 crore is to be spent on strengthening of infrastructure and transportation.

The party has also promised 8 lakhs jobs in a phased manner. Also, the manifesto promises to establish five new medical colleges in the state. A corpus fund of Rs 900 crores would be set ndash;up under the Hill Start-up Yojna.

To provide relief of apple growers, the party has announced that GST on cartons will be 12 per cent. BJP has also assured that ex-gratia for army martyrs will be increased.

Also, survey will be undertaken to stop illegal use of Wakf board properties in state.

The party has announced Rs 3000 annually to farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi.

With focus on women empowerment, Nadda promised 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs, bicycle for school going girls, three free LPG cylinders for poor women, construction of two hostels in every district for girls pursuing higher education and loan at two per cent to women for construction of homestays.
